My name is Michael Holden. As one of only a small number of 1st4sport Level 3 British Triathlon coaches in the country I felt there was room and a need for a Triathlon club in the Elmbridge area of Surrey with a simple and Corinthian approach to sport.
I have been involved in Triathlon since 1994 joining the still running Kingfisher.
My first open water swim (ever) was at the National Club Relays at Holmes Pierrepoint in 1997. A minor shoulder problem pushed me to the side lines and I started coaching.
Reel forward to 2005, I then moved to Thames Turbo Triathlon Club and spent seven happy years, first as a junior lane coach, then seniors swim coach, then run coach, track coach, and elected Head Coach from 2007 - 2012
My passion through devotion and sacrifice to my coaching is seeing other people improve and reach new heights in their athletic goals. What I consider to be an exemplary career in coaching has led to this new challenge with Comet Triathlon Club.
Our new club is based on comradeship, teamwork and an old fashioned view of socializing whilst training!
The club is based as a self supporting organisation run for the younger Triathlon fraternity within the Elmbridge district of the Thames Valley in Surrey.
